THE WORKSHOP
THE PROCESS OF MAKING A STAINED GLASS PANEL
- Choose a template.
- Decide on colours to use in your design.
- Place glass on the template and cut the glass in the required shapes.
- Join the glass panel together with ‘lead came ‘ building as though a jigsaw puzzle from the left corner out.
- Solder the lead joints using flux /tallow using a soldering iron . A mask is worn .
- ‘Cement’ the design to keep the glass secure. Cement is like putty .This can be very messy.
- Apply ‘whiting’: a chalk powder sprinkled across the panel on top of cement to absorb the oil from the cement.
- Polish the finished design using black grate polish.
Reviews and photos from past attendees at my glass workshops.

Thank you Kay for being patient and kind. I loved learning how to create a design, cut glass, use machines…
